Behavior learning theory is a discovery by a scientist called Skinner. In his experiments, Skinner used food as a reward to cause behavior change in the dog. For example, if he wants the dog to go outside, he places food there, and the dog follows the food as it goes out. Therefore, the dog responds to the stimulant, food, which is the reinforcement or reward. To apply this, at the start, an ABA trainer may use snacks to control behavior before upgrading to other reinforcers.

However, such children need a well-organized environment to make them as naturally as possible.

ABA is mainly concerned with setting up the environment that acts as an avenue for children, especially those with autism, to source information. The organization of the environment is in line with the principles of ABA. Then, an ABA teacher continually emphasizes on the utilization of positive reinforcements to produce desirable habits. Hence, applied behavioral analysis is more of a science than philosophy, which has shown partial evidence of developing necessary skills in developmentally disordered brains, especially in early childhood.

Concisely, ABA points out the pre-requisites that support children to learn naturally. Aside from behavioral learning approach, other methods that children may learn naturally from include explanation and models. Kids also imitate people without receiving help. Research has shown that children would not develop autism if they could learn on their own

There is not as much information regarding the application of ABA program. ABA trainers apply the principles to demonstrate many areas. These principles may either escalate or lessen behavior depending on the projected purpose. Nonetheless, the objective of every therapist is to effect constructive behavior such as eating, dressing, toileting, self-care and other public significant behaviors.

ABA program is an inclusive program; hence, parents also play a crucial role. From studies, children whose parents take an active part in the program make meaningful progress. Since a parent is a person who knows the child better, they avail relevant data, which helps in conducting the ABA program. Parents also induce skills in children consistently reinforcing them via the daily activities.
